Winter Tree Stripped my great beech tree Stark in the cold. Gone its brave panoply of trembling gold. Sad is this mystery of beauty lost Summer's warm sun to be now Winter's frost. But in the night I see Gazing out afar, Where clung its leaves, my tree Now holds a golden star. Cathleen Benson |
